Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to drop a quick update for you all! Manufacturing is ongoing and we're starting to get images from the factories. We also received the pre-production sample a couple weeks ago and we're so happy with how everything is turning out. We wanted to share some pictures so you can see how it's all shaping up. BEHOLD:

Card Sleeves

The much requested sleeves look and feel AMAZING!!

Sam and I sat and sleeved all the cards and it takes a LONG time. But it was really fun getting to look at and see each card! Just set aside some time if you got the sleeves, or have an army of friends to help you.

Booster Packs

Here are the boosters. The tops aren't sealed so that we could look at them with tearing them open, the tops won't be as long. 

Also we know the packs added a lot of content to the game, we just didn't realize how much until we physically added them to their appropriate stacks.

Metal Coins

These look and feel so good! We love the sound they make when you toss them back into the bank.

We know you've all been waiting a long time to play Fable Fury and we're only a couple of weeks away from delivery, but, in the meantime you can play a digital version of Fable Fury for free on Tabletopia. 

This is a special backers playzone we've created for all of you to be able to play Fable Fury. You can invite friends and family, or try a couple solo runs. You do not  need to sign up for the premium version while you play in this playzone:

If you're looking for people to play with we have a tabletopia section on the Discord server. It's a great place to meet new friends and find people to play with who share your obsession for unruly heroes, overly cute baby dragons, and hoarding of collectors coins.

Shipping

We are getting close to shipping. We will reach out soon and have shipping options available. To do this we will need to lock address and then charge for shipping. We're really happy with the current shipping costs as they haven't gone up a lot since our original quotes from a year ago. 

It has been a constant fear of ours that shipping would go bonkers with all that's been happening in the world and make it really hard to get the game out, but that doesn't seem to be the case. We'll talk more specifically about it on the next update.

Dev Streams

We will be doing another Dev Stream on Friday (Aug 15th). Come hang out, learn how to use Tabletopia, and dive deeper into the creation of Fable Fury! We'll also show off all of these samples. We'd love to see you there.

Appendicitis and the Finish Line!

Thank you all for your amazing support! We are so excited to give you a quick update...

Firstly, a couple weeks ago Jordan's tummy decided to fight back. We are so glad he is okay, happy, healthy & recovered. If you're interested in hearing about it...he made a video.

Tabletopia

We are very close to having the game be fully ported to Tabletopia. They have been so awesome in getting this project done. What is great about the platform is that you can play on your browser or download the game on steam. Aaaaannnnd... It will be free for all you backers!

Shipping Costs

We've received all our quotes back from our various fulfilment partners and our estimates from the Kickstarter Campaign are still holding up (within a dollar or so). We've received a number inquires about the Backerkit add-on shipping costs for the mat, sleeves & plushy. The quotes have come back under $10 to put all the add-ons into a bigger box with your game(s). So if you've been waiting for this info, now's the time to add them. [Click this link]

Closing Time

We have extended the Backerkit campaign for 2 more weeks so you have time to grab the add-ons. After July 18th you will no longer be able to make changes to your surveys and add-ons. Your cards will be charged so please make sure that you have the correct card information on file. If any issues arise with your payment you’ll receive an email letting you know to correct your payment information. The campaign then will move into the "Lock Address Stage" where we will give you a month or so to finalize your shipping address and costs associated with that address. We are anticipating shipping from the factory mid to late August, and getting everything in your hands before the holiday season.

Manufacturing Has Begun

Hello Everybody,

We have some exciting news and updates for you all. 

Manufacturing & Backerkit

Manufacturing is a go

With the recent pause on tariffs for 90 days we have the perfect window to manufacture and fulfill your orders.

What does this mean?

As long as everything remains the same, we should be delivering Fable Fury to ALL our backers on time this year! With all the recent tariff craziness, manufacturing started a little later than we had hoped, but, we had enough buffer built in that we should still meet all the deadlines.

We're so excited for you to all receive Fable Fury!!

(We'll continue to post updates with pictures and status reports as we get them!)

Closing Backerkit

With the finalization of the manufacturing order, we will need to close Backerkit. Which means, all orders will become final and cards will be charged for any changes and add-ons. If you added or changed nothing from Kickstarter there will be no charges, your order will just be locked.

 We're looking to close Backerkit at the end of the month, June 30th. 

So go back to your surveys and make sure you are happy with everything you have there (names and address are correct, etc.). We can still update addresses manually, so if you have a move planned after June 30th, don't worry. We go you covered. Just reach out to us when your address changes.

Please note: this is not the charge for shipping. We're still going to wait another month or two to make sure we get you the most accurate shipping costs without overcharging for it.

Stickers

To make sure that our supporters have something unique to show off on their boxes we had Sergei design three stickers that will be applied to your box. Based on the reward tier you pledged and the items you got, your box will come with one of three stickers on the front:

These unique additions to your box will be a mark that shows you were with Fable Fury from the beginning. Your support helped make the game a reality! We hope you feel proud every time you pull out your box to play. We can't thank you enough for all the love and support we've gotten since announcing the Kickstarter campaign!

Add-Ons

As promised here are the glamour shots of the Plush and the Neoprene Mat add-on as well as a rendered look at the Sleeved Card Storage Box:

Drakorath Jr. Plushie

There are still a few minor tweaks we will make to him, but we are so happy with the way our little mascot turned out! He is SO soft and squishy in person. 

Neoprene Mat

The neoprene mat is stitched (a lot of you have asked) and will be shipped with a tube to store the mat so that it is rolled, never folded. 

The plush and the mat are on their way to Jordan as you read this. If you watch his streams you should be able to get a more "live" look at them in a couple days when he gets them.

Card Sleeves Storage Box

Here is a render of the box you will get to store all your cards in once they are sleeved:

The box is included with the purchase of the sleeves since all the cards can't fit in the original boxes. There's a lot of them! You will get 350 Sleeves in total which will cover the Base game, the Besties vs Baddies Expansion, and all the Boosters that were released during the Kickstarter, and this box can hold ALL of them! 

Digital Fable Fury

We now have time to turn our attention to the digital version of Fable Fury. We are working with the fine people over at Tabletopia to get Fable Fury ported over into their system. 

We decided to focus on Tabletopia first because the platform is free to use, which means it does not require people to purchase a separate game to run the game they're getting for free.

Once we have a successful launch on Tabletopia, we will turn our attention to Tabletop Simulator to see what is possible there for those who may prefer that platform.

When it's ready, codes will be delivered to you from Backerkit via email, so make sure your email is up to date in your Backerkit survey. 

So Much More!

We have so many more plans for Fable Fury coming in the future. Jordan is working on a secret animation (shhhh) which will bring the heroes personalities to life! We're also building out 2 full fledge expansions that will drive Fable Fury to its limits and introduce whole new ways for your adventures to unfold. This is just the tip of the iceberg, we will not stop until Fable Fury is the most fun you and your friends & family can have around a table.

The Crazy World Update

A lot has happened in the world. But before we get to the crazy check this out!

Neoprene Mats

The Crazy

No joke, we have rewritten this update 3 times over the last 3 days. Things are changing so rapidly in the trade war between the US and China. As of editing this update this morning, the U.S. has now officially raised the tariff on board games imported from China to 125 percent. In response, China just increased their tariffs to 84 percent.

As we’ve seen from others in the industry, the impact is immediate. Cephalofair just published a very transparent update on their Gloomhaven campaign outlining the scale of the problem. We highly recommend reading it. We’ve also seen Matagot, Boardlandia, and Leder Games each take different approaches depending on their production timelines and exposure. Some are pausing pre-orders. Some are asking backers to share the cost. Some are holding prices steady and hoping things stabilize.

Here’s where we stand with Fable Fury.

Our games are currently scheduled to ship from China to the United States in July or August. We are proceeding with this plan, but only if the tariff level returns to something manageable by then. If the tariffs are not dramatically reduced or entirely eliminated, we will be forced to delay U.S. fulfillment until the cost drops to a level we can absorb. To be clear, we are not planning to pass these costs on to U.S. backers. We are simply not in a position to ship into the current environment. We are actively looking at all options to manufacture outside of China and if there is a responsible way to get Fable Fury into your hands, we will find it.

In the meantime, we’re expediting the digital version of the game. All backers will receive free access as soon as it’s ready. This wasn’t something we expected to prioritize this early, but we think it’s the right move given the circumstances. We're exploring the option of building it on Tabletopia, a free platform, so no purchase will be necessary on your part to play it.

Branding, Developer Streams, Monsters Unleashed Boosters, and More!

Hello Everyone!

As we draw nearer to finalizing our manufacturing order we wanted to update you all on the progress of the game so far and share with you some exciting new updates. This is a lot, so strap in.

Branding

While developing Fable Fury to help us make adjustments and tweaks on the fly, the branding on the cards has been the same temporary elements. For those of you who have seen the streams or looked at the cards closely you may recognize this wood and paper design on all the cards:

This has served us well while we were developing and adjusting things constantly. Now that the game has reached it's final form we had Sergei, our incredibly talented super artist, go through and brand these sections to match the feeling of each of the card types. Here's a sneak peak of some of the cards.

This latest update allows each card type to be truly different from the others. The important information is now easy to find and see from across the table with larger font sizes and better spacing. Your eyes.... and grandparents will thank us. 

Sergei also redid the icons and we are in love. 

We are still waiting on a couple more things like updated skill flames (which will allow you to tell skill types from the look and not just the color for our colorblind friends). There still may be a couple more minor tweaks before it hits print. Sergei has been drawing non-stop and we're not sure how his hand hasn't fallen off yet!

Developer Stream

If you would like a more in-depth peak behind the curtain, Sam & Conryd (with a guest pop in every now and then from Jordan) will be going live on Twitch during some of our playtest sessions. We are not entertainers and we can't promise they will be the greatest streams you will ever see, but you will learn a lot about Fable Fury, game creation, what true playtesting looks like, and maybe even pick up a couple tips and tricks on how to thrive in the realms!

Enemies Unleashed Boosters

For those of you who got the Enemies Unleashed booster packs during the Kickstarter or added it to your order in Backerkit, we promised you some new mechanics and behaviors with these enemies. We've finalized those and are currently play testing them to make sure they are fun and balanced. Here is what you can expect:

Flee: Flee causes dragons to leave combat after they have finished their final attack. This means they take their reward with them. If you are unable to kill a dragon before they flee then you've taken a lot of damage with no reward. Make sure you fight these dragons with extreme prejudice to ensure you get that sweet sweet loot!

Disarm: Because of their size, Giants have a tendency to knock the weapons out of heroes hands. Being attacked by a giant with disarm means that on your next attack you can only attack with your one core dice leaving you weak and pitiful. Items that do damage and skills that allow you to attack with extra dice in a turn will help reduce the disadvantage of being disarmed but it will never take away the shame of an adventurer who drops their weapon.

Pierce: Orcs have been hard at work developing new combat techniques to deal even more devastating damage. Sharper weapons and more precise attacks allow orcs to attack heroes ignoring their armor. Orcs who attack with pierce will deal direct damage to a heroes health. Think you're safe behind that shield... think again.

These new mechanics change the meta of the game. No longer can you rely on a pile of dice or a fortress of armor to help you cruise through the realms. Attack quickly and brutally if you want to ensure you make it out alive. These 36 new enemies can be played alone or mixed in with the base game to give you an even more unpredictable run that will keep you on your toes!

Enemies Unleashed can still be added to your order in Backerkit. While these boosters are a Kickstarter exclusive the mechanics will be seen in expansions in the future to make sure all players can get the full experience of Fable Fury. However, the artwork, actions, and attack patterns of these enemies will only be contained in these packs. These enemies will not be reskinned and released later so they maintain their exclusivity.

And More

So far we are still missing surveys from 15% of you. If you have been putting off the survey now is the time to fill it in. If you have not received the survey then please reach out. You may have your email hidden through your Apple ID or it hit your spam filter. Either way we want to make sure your receive your copy of Fable Fury without issue.

We are getting closer and closer to finalizing our order with the manufacturer. While we work towards that we wanted to touch on a few things we've been asked frequently:

1 - So far we are unaffected by any of the current political policies being passed around. We still expect to be on schedule and deliver when promised. We will update you if that ever changes.

2 - March is the order date we make with the factory. Not the delivery date of the game. You can refer to the Timeline section back in the Kickstarter. We apologize to anyone who misunderstood that fact, but it hasn't changed since the Kickstarter launched and we've tried to be as clear about that as we possibly can. You will all get a copy of Fable Fury later this year and we are so excited for all of you to play it!

3 - We have left the Pledge Manager open longer than we said because we were given some good advice by people who have done a lot more Kickstarters than we have. We also promised you pictures of some of the new addons which we haven't received yet because of the Chinese New Year delay. We want to make sure you all get a proper look at what you're ordering before we lock the orders. Here is a quick sneak peak at the 3D model of the Drakorath Plushie (which still isn't sufficiently backed yet for us to make an order but maybe when we get the official pictures more of you will want him...or her)
